The PAX Omegathon is a multi-gaming tournament that pits competitors against one another to find out who is the best overall gamer. While pro gaming purists may laugh at the idea, it’s sort of like an extended version of the Quake Quad Damage tournament at QuakeCon 2007.

Sierra today announced that a demo of World in Conflict will come out this Friday, Aug. 24, just in time for the Leipzig Games Convention and Penny Arcade Expo.
With 16 player multiplayer on the map “Seaside,” bot play, one mission from the Single Player campaign, and clan match support, this should pack a wallop for your weekend.
Remember, the full game comes out Sept. 18 and the collector’s edition contains a piece of the Berlin wall.
Gabe and Tycho, those wacky guys behind the Penny Arcade expo, today released the schedule of Penny Arcade Expo, held Aug. 24 through 26 in Seattle.
Over 22,000 people have pre-registered for the event, making this one of the bigger conventions of the year. Attendees will be able to join discussions, listen in on panels, and particpate in the Omegathon, a multi-game tournament with a Scion xB as a grand prize.
The Red vs. Blue team will be making an appearance at the Rooster Teeth Productions Panel, so keep that in mind too.
If you’ll find yourself in the area during this timeframe, make sure to head over to the Washington State Convention and Trade Center on Aug. 24.
