Big Air Gaming League ladders reset! Win a trip to the 2009 Honda Session in Vail, Colorado!

GGL and GameStop have restarted the Big Air Gaming League Guitar Hero III Xbox 360 1v1 tournament as of today, May 16!

The ladder runs until June 22 and the top 32 players from the ladder will advance to a bracket phase.  The bracket starts June 25, and continues until July 13.

Whoever wins the bracket gets a trip for two to the 2009 Honda Session in Vail, Colorado!

Additionally, there will be two more BAGL GH3 tournaments in October and December of this year. The winners will also get trips for two to the 2009 Honda Session.

Blizzard assists with Guitar Hero III expansion, builds for China, Korea

Yes, that’s the correct headline.

As a result of the Activision/Vivendi merger, Blizzard (soon to be Activision-Blizzard) will be working on the Guitar Hero III expansion pack, helping bring the game to internet cafes in Korea and China.

The PC bang culture that birthed the professional StarCraft scene is going to get a dose of rhythm game action.

CEO Bobby Kotick also opened the door for a Guitar Hero MMO, something that could go over very well in Asian markets. Typically, Asian MMOs are free, but items, outfits, and other gear is bought on a microtransaction level–exactly the kind of thing you’d see a virtual rockstar doing.

Rock Band mod: Actual strings on the guitar

We’ve all seen the slew of mods that have come out of Rock Band, but most of them are just to keep the instruments from breaking.

This mod adds a bit more authenticity to the game by giving you an actual string to strum on instead of the annoying clicky one that seems to curse the stock guitars. Check it:
