Today Sony announced that they will be attempting to move stock of outdated Sixaxis controllers by bundling them with games. So far the games bundled are: Grand Turismo 5 Prologue, Folklore, Motorstorm and F1 Championship Edition. The bundles are only available in Europe. The combo game and controller will fetch you €60.
This is a clever move by Sony. The DualShock 3 controller hasn’t be released is Europe yet and this will defiantly motivate buyers to help clear stock.
Having just announced that the PlayStation 3 would now have a rumble-enabled controller dubbed the DualShock 3, Sony has also released a list of the games you’ll be able to feel the game with. Check the jump for the complete rundown.
During his 2007 Tokyo Game Show keynote, Sony Computer Entertainment’s Kaz Hirai confirmed the plan for the company to once again make the PlayStation rumble — the PlayStation 3 would in fact get a new controller called DualShock 3. The Sixaxis functionality will remain the same, as will the design from the outside. The revamped controller will debut in November in Japan and in Spring 2008 in North America and Europe — the company has not released pricing details. Nine titles at TGS will include the new PS3 rumble functionality. Some of those will be: Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Echochrome.
While we wait for the latest Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer to finish downloading and uploading for your viewing pleasure, we just so happened to snag some interesting photos from the newest video. We’re not sure what the story is behind this little guy, but isn’t he just the cutest little thing in the world?
According to IGN, Electronic Arts’ Burnout Paradise demo at the Tokyo Game Show is not your average PlayStation 3 game — it rumbles. After a settlement with Immersion over the rumble technology in the DualShock controller, most people predicted it was only a matter of time before Sony included rumble in their Sixaxis controller for the PS3. It appears as the time is now, as EA has jumped Sony’s gun on the TGS announcement.
