Today new Rock Band DLC was announced. The three songs , available for download Tuesday on Xbox 360 and Thursday on PS3, come from The Mother Hips and The Smashing Pumpkins. The songs are:

  •      “Red Tandy” by The Mother Hips (160 MS Points / $2)
  •      “Time Sick Son of a Grizzly Bear” by The Mother Hips (160 MS Points / $2)
  •      “Zero” by The Smashing Pumpkins (160 MS Points / $2)

Unfortunately there is no pack offering, so if you want these songs, you have to fork over $2 a piece.

Just like clockwork, a new work week starts and Rock Band downloadable content is announced.

This week the folks over at Harmonix are blessing us with one of my personal favorites, “Siva” by the Smashing Pumpkins. The other two songs are covers of “Working Man” by Rush and “Ten Speed (Of God’s Blood and Burial)” by Coheed and Cambria. All these songs will cost you 160 Microsoft points, or $2.00 for the non microtransaction savvy.

It’s that time again. Rock Band downloadable tracks have been announced for the week. This week’s pack consists completely of Oasis songs. They are: “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” “Wonderwall” and “Live Forever.”

Individual songs will cost you 160 Microsoft Points ($2.00), or you can get the “Oasis Pack 01″ for 440 Microsoft Points ($5.50), saving you $0.50.

These songs bring back memories of the mid 90’s, when bands like the Gin Blossoms and The Smashing Pumpkins topped the charts, and when songs on the radio were still good. If Harmonix keeps releasing nostalgic song packs like this, they are guaranteed my money.
