Four players have emerged from the scrum of GGL’s Soulcalibur IV bracket qualifiers after crushing their enemies and hearing the lamentation of their women. These four warriors will advance to the Grand Final, to be held in Los Angeles on an episode of G4’s X-Play.
Here are your four winners:
Black Mamba won the first bracket and plays Dead or Alive 4 at a professional level with the CGS’ Chicago Chimera.
Alex is one of the finalists from the second bracket.
CNP is the second finalist from the second bracket.
Cha2, a longtime SC player, won the final bracket.
Congrats to all the winners!
Two brackets are progressing simultaneously in GGL’s Soulcalibur IV Xbox 360 tournament, with bracket 2 at the sweet sixteen level and bracket three at the round of elite eight. Black Mamba has already won the first bracket.
Let’s have a look at the third and final bracket matchups!
misato already made it to the sweet 16 in bracket 2, but is trying his luck in bracket 3 as well. ScorpionXIII, meanwhile, got booted out in the second round of bracket 2. One of these guys is going down; it’s just a matter of who is hungrier.
Neither one of these players were in the second bracket, but since both have made it this far, I’d say a coin toss is in order.
EJ just knocked off Azn Fury 85 in the second bracket; can he get his second wind?
I’m picking OffBeat (the resident pro gamer in this matchup), but if he doesn’t show up, provost_ could very well take it home.
Good luck to all competitors! The winner of this bracket will receive the final trip to Los Angeles to compete on an episode of G4’s X-Play!
The second bracket of GGL’s SoulCalibur IV tournament has progressed quickly, whittling down the playing field to 16 gamers. Two finalists from this bracket will be flown to Los Angeles to compete on an episode of G4’s X-Play.
Some recognizable names are still in the bracket, so let’s have a look!
CNP lived up to his #1 seed (random though it may be) so far, running the bracket, while Shadekill doesn’t seem to have much confidence in his abilities. See the match details page here for the full story.
OffBeatNinja is a sponsored professional gamer. You know who my money is on; can the good doctor pull off an upset?
EJ is a well-known Dead or Alive 4 player who frequently makes his way to LAN tournaments. Who is Azn Fury 85? He’s made it this far in our second bracket, but he may be looking at defeat. Still, because this is a single-elim tournament, it could go either way. Read more »
GGL’s Soulcalibur IV tournament has just completed its first bracket, and Jeremy “BlackMamba” Florence has taken home first place!
You may remember BlackMamba from Dead or Alive fame on his CGS franchise team, the Chicago Chimera. He is, apparently, quite the crossover gamer, so congrats to him.
For his efforts, BlackMamba wins a trip to Los Angeles to compete on G4’s X-Play!
The Soulcalibur IV tournament has progressed to its second bracket now. Stay tuned for further information.

Rumors on the Internets were true! It seems the Sith Lord Darth Vader will make his way to Soulcalibur IV’s Xbox 360 version, while Yoda will attempt to cleanse the PlayStation 3 of its darkness.
Seriously though, did anyone have any doubts that Namco was going to try to squeeze the last drop of humanity out of all of the platform loyalists by releasing the two characters as DLC?
Both sides of the Force will go for between $5 and $6 on their respective platforms (600 Yen on PS3, 400 MS points in Gates Dollars).
Soulcalibur IV is also the subject of a GGL tournament that you can join at GGL’s Soulcalibur IV Xbox 360 game page.
