Today it was revealed on GameStop, that Spore will be getting a Galactic Edition. “What’s the difference?” you ask. Well aside from the $80 price, gamers will be treated to a “Making of” DVD, a DVD from the National Geographic Channel titled “How to Build a Better Being”, a mini art book, a poster and finally a 100-page “Galactic Handbook”.
Quite the collection for $30 more. If I was super excited about Spore, I’d get this in a heart beat, but I’m not. In all reality, I’ll probably get roped into buying this. It comes out just in time for my girlfriend’s birthday… and she loves Will Wright games.

Today Maxis released the Spore Creature Creator trial. Both PC and Mac users can download the 200MB file here, and try their hand at playing God. The full retail version will be available to purchase via the EA store Wednesday, June 18 at 12:00:00 CDT.
