Mind control gaming: It actually works
It sounds ridiculous, but NeuroSky’s Mindset device actually reads your brainwaves in order to see if you are concentrating on in-game objects.
I know what you’re thinking: Another gimmick device like the Wiimote. Well, Square Enix has signed on to create Judecca, a zombie fighter game that uses the Mindset. In Judecca, gamers have to concentrate on a glyph on their in-game character’s hand, revealing previously-hidden enemies.
Additionally, concentrating hard enough can allow you to walk through walls. Not bad–it’s like a mental version of “idnoclip.”
According to EnGadget, the Mindset should be out in Spring 2009 for “between $50 and $80,” but no platform details have been announced.
