If you guys have been keeping your ears to the street, one of the most rampant rumors running around is that Dead Rising is coming to the Wii. Today, Capcom made those rumors true. Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop promises to be a more casual take on the original Dead Rising. In order to do this, Capcom had to make some of the major changes, including removal of the time system. Missions will be given in a linear order. When they are completed, the next one starts. No more checking your watch every five minutes to make sure you can get the good ending.

Today, Bioware announced that when you pre-order the PC version of Mass Effect from the EA Store, you will get both the first issue of the Dead Space comic book and a Dead Space poster. Sounds pretty good, epically to a comic book nerd like myself.

I must say, this is quite a strange marketing ploy, but seeing as I plan on picking both up, this deal suits me just fine.

Today, Eden Games announced the contents of the European Alone in the Dark Limited Edition. Available on the Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3, the Limited Edition will contain an Official Soundtrack CD, Making of DVD, an Art Book and a figurine of the games hero, Edward Carnby. Unfortunately they forgot to include the price in the press release. Alone in the Dark hits stores June 24 in the US and June 20 in Europe.

The guys over at Eden Games sure know how to pack in the extras. I can only hope that this Limited Edition heads States side.

Today, Konami announced that Silent Hill 5, now known as Silent Hill: Homecoming, will be arriving in stores at the end of September on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. The game puts players in control of a new protagonist, Alex Shepard, who is lured to Silent Hill in search of his missing brother. The game will feature new graphics and an enhanced combat system.

I can’t wait for this game. I have always been a fan of survival horror games and this Fall seems to be shaping up nicely with Silent Hill: Homecoming and Dead Space. Hopefully both of them will be spooky enough for the Halloween season.

Resident Evil Zero will be ported onto the Wii. Unfortunately, no other information was revealed by Capcom, especially in regards to controls. It would be a shame if the game didn’t get waggle-style controls.

I am really excited about this. I have always been a huge fan of Resident Evil, but never had a Gamecube. Thanks to this port, I don’t have to spend cash on a Gamecube controller and memory card for my Wii. Hopefully the rest of the Resident Evil remakes will get ported as well.

Today EA announced a release date for Dead Space. Predictably, Dead Space will be arriving Oct. 31, Halloween. This apples only to the PS3 and Xbox 360 version; there has been no word on a release date for the PC.

Personally I can’t wait for this game. I have always had a thing for survival-horror games, however the classic zombies and mansions are getting kind of old. Hopefully space is just what the genre needed. Until Halloween, I guess I’ll just have to follow the comics to tide me over.
