Enterbrain has announced that Tougeki’08 Final (also known as SBO’08) will be held in August. The tournament will take place over over 3 days. This is the biggest arcade fighting game competition inJapan.Last year, top players from EU countries, Australia, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and three areas from theU.S. (west, central and east) participated this tournament. Not only is the Tekken series considered one of the best fighting games of all time, but it’s also always been a great benchmark as far as eye candy. The PlayStation 3’s Tekken 6 looks to be no different. Check out the pretty new pictures and see if you have a favorite — mine are anything to do with pigs in the background.
Tekken is known for its buff, bodacious bodies. Even old men like Heihachi Mishima have 22″ guns. But the newest character in the series should throw you for a loop.
Meet Bob, described as a “martial arts genius.” His backstory includes gaining weight in order to increase his fighting ability. And also being a lardbucket.
It’s hilarious and all, but far from the most ridiculous Tekken character I’ve seen. After all, a panda and grizzly bear appear as playable characters in the series, too.
Tekken 6 is scheduled to hit stores toward the end of 2008.
