DigitalLife 2007 setup day is almost over, and we’re slowly getting up and running. Check out these clips of the admins cutting up (literally) and some funky action from Shane Orr and Rance “Rome” Costa. Also, be on the lookout for a recap of Amir “Hakeem” Haleem’s day and some ridiculously cool Pac-Man plush toys.
The DigitalLife 2007 GGL Wire crew finally got into the Javits Center with approximately 863 lbs. (391 KG) of equipment. This segment of videos features not only the well-known coverage and talent crews, but also the admin cast and the competition staff who make all our tournaments happen. Starring: Hogan “kam-RA” Carter, Rance “Rome” Costa, Don King, Joe “Samm” Moss, Joe “Syn” Radkowski, Emily Porter, John “Alien” Clark, Stuart Brooks, and more.
The Pac Man helmet returns at E for All, this time enveloping the heads of Jarod “StreetRunner” Reisen and Abe Zarran of Pro Gam3r Magazine, GGL’s Chachi Ramirez, and the immortal Rance “djRome” Costa. Check it.
It occurred to me before I showed up for E for All that the event could blow. The old E3 sucked for various other reasons, and it seems the ESA still hasn’t been able to figure out the magic formula to get good foot traffic and exposure. This event is fairly deserted for a Friday.
As a result, I have resolved to continue entertaining myself with the Pac Man helmet I acquired at the Namco booth.
There is some good news, however. Many pro gamers are in attendance for various reasons, so I’m looking forward to some footage of them. For now, check the blog (hampered by the asstastically slow connection in the E for All media center):
This is what happens when the first day of a video games convention is a total bust: Rance and I buy Pac Man helmets and attempt to entertain ourselves. There was literally nothing going on at E for All on Thursday aside from a handful of hands-on demonstrations, and crowds were sparse. I’m still holding out hope for Friday, as the tournaments pick up then. We’ll have coverage of as much as possible on GGL Wire, but the event looks pretty grim for now.
Check the video of Rance giving me a concussion and the return of White Diamond — attempting to commit suicide — below.
Yeah, I know, we’re well into day three here at the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Final. I just got a chance to break away from the production desk to post these videos though, so you guys can get a glimpse of some of the after-hours action at the player’s village.
Starring: me, g0d-Ms.X, g0d-Trinelin, Sam “zr0″ Matthews and others.

We just got this breaking report that StarCraft owner Song “Stork” Byung Goo used a banned bug in his group tiebreaker match against IP.EX. It’s unclear why Stork, the KeSPA’s #1 ranked StarCraft player as of this month, whipped out the exploit, but GGL Wire’s Nick “Tasteless” Plott narrates this shakycam footage of the event and outcome.

I’ve been in Seattle since Tuesday and this is the first chance I got to do anything fun other than eat apple danishes and have intestinal problems, so I jumped at the chance to play g0d-Ms.X in a game of Quake 3 at the Razer booth. Little did I know what was in store for me … or did I?
See what transpired below.
And yes, I did have an excuse ready at the end. See all our WCG 07 footage at the WCG07 video page.
Well, it’s the first day of the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Finals, and what better way to start it off than with an apple danish guaranteed to give you diabetes? djWHEAT and Tasteless geek out with Starcraft talk while kam-RA gets his insulin on. Check it.
P.S - I met a blast from the past right after we got off the bus today. It was none other than Joseph “Dy-Syng” Kim, a Canadian ex-Quake 3 player who I used to play with back in 2000-2001. He also happened to be an extremely good player. These days, he’s the head referee for the World Cyber Games. It’s always fun to catch up with old-school deathmatchers and I’ll try to get that elusive beast on camera soon.
We’re at the Qwest Event Center here in Seattle, sitting on a concrete floor, bringing you updates from the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Final. The GGL Wire crew hooked up with Tom “SeeD” Conerly and Stuart “Django” Ewen last night at our hotel, and will meet up with more broadcasters today to round out the full coverage crew.
Breakfast was … disappointing, to say the least. However, I just saw some pretty badass cars at the Project Gotham Racing 4 area, which made up for it. Check the videos.
The GGL Wire crew hit the road again late Tuesday to bring you official coverage from the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Final held in Seattle. Starring Chachi Ramirez, Hogan “kam-RA” Carter and Rance “Rome” Costa, these videos chronicle our journey from the office in Santa Monica to Seattle. Enjoy.
DigitalLife 2007 is over, and we thought it would be best to highlight some of the zany characters that make the GGL Wire’s productions happen. Check out these videos of Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham, Hogan “kam-RA” Carter, Rance “Rome” Costa, Robert Summa, Amir “Hakeem” Haleem and more at the event.
On set-up day, Amir got foul-mouthed with the camera as he searched desperately for Joe Moss, our director of competitions. When we were finished, I spoke to Chris at the Javits center about our progress.
The following day, I caught up with Spirit Moon … or rather, caught up with the eyes of “the fifth race” as he checked out Checkpooh’s practice games. Moon, naturally, went on to beat Sweet in the WarCraft III final. Continued…
