Today, the third Warcraft 3 player from Korea has won himself a ticket to the World Cyber Games finals in Seattle. His name is Lee “SoJu” Seong Deok, and it will be his third WCG appearance in a row.
The Electronic Sports World Cup winner SoJu lost in the qualifier’s semi final to June “Lyn” Park, but defeated Jang “WhO” Du Sub for third place with a 2-0 map score. He will be joining the Orc player Lyn and the Night Elf player Jang “Spirit Moon” JaeHo to form perhaps the strongest Korean WCG team for WC3 since 2004. Continued…
For the first time in years, Jang “Spirit Moon” JeaHo has qualified for the World Cyber Games finals in Warcraft 3. The Meet Your Makers Night Elf player beat Jang “WhO” Du Sub for his berth in the finals. Moon’s previous appearance in the WCG was in 2004, when he lost to Hwang “Zacard” Tae Min in the playoffs.
The highest earning Warcraft 3 player this year only needed two maps to defeat WhO and beat him on Terenas Stand and Twisted Meadows. Yesterday, June “Lyn” Park qualified by beating Lee “SoJu” Seong Deok. SoJu and WhO will play a consolation final for third place.
The World Cyber Games finals takes place in Seattle, on October 3-7.

The legendary Kim “Bisu” Taek Yong and the World Cyber Games 2006 bronze medalist Jun “Midas” Sang Wook will not be going to the U.S. consulate in Korea any time soon. They were knocked out of the WCG qualifier for StarCraft today and will not be going to the finals in Seattle.

Today, he beat the fellow Night Elf player Hyung Ju “Check” Lee in the quarterfinal of the Korean WCG preliminary with a 2-0 map score. By the looks of it, Korea will be sending two Night Elf players to the World Cyber Games. The semi finals of the Korean qualifier will see two NE vs. Orc match-ups. Cries about the NE race being too strong in Warcraft 3 will resound for months to go.
