Two new titles based on Manga ranked #6 and #7 (see Shugo Chara and Hayate the Combat Butler). Otherwise, other released titles seem consistent.

Yakuza 3 (Ryuu gaGotoku Kenzan!) has earned the #1 position of this week’s game sales ranking. Yakuza 3 takes place in Edo era right after the battle of Sekigahara in 1605. The main character that player can control is Musashi Miyamoto, a legendary samurai.

This is a little offtopic, but there is a film adaptation of the game. Takashi Miike who is known as one of the best Japanese horror director who directed Audition, the best horror film ever made in the past 10 years.A new title, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption earned #3 for this week’s game sales ranking.

Seikaijyu no Meikyu (aka Etrian Odyssey) for Nintendo DS, as many people in Japan expected, has earned #1 position of this week’s Famitsu game sales ranking.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl barely held onto its #1 position for this week, too.

Seven new titles showed up in this week’s ranking. The PSP title Warriors Orochi, which was expected to become one of the major titles ranked #4 this week.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl kept the #1 Famitsu sales position this week. There are five new titles that ranked top 10 of this week. PS2 title Poison Pink earned the #3 position this time around.

Even though Devil May Cry 4 sold 2 million copies in 3 weeks, DMC4 dropped out out this week’s ranking.

The new Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 Ubiquitous Evolution made a strenuous effort and was rewarded with the #2 spot this week. Moreover, Dorabase Dramatic Stadium ranked up to #8.

U.S. gamers, this might surprise you: For this week, Lucky Star Ryouou Gakuen Outousai ranked #3. Lucky Star is a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga by Kagami Yoshimizu that is published in Comptiq.
