This morning publisher D3 announced that Puzzle Quest: Galactrix will arrive on Xbox Live Marketplace on Wednesday, April 8 and will cost you 1600 Microsoft Points ($20).
Developed by Infinite Interactive, Puzzle Quest: Galactrix takes the classic Bejeweled gameplay and gives it a sci-fi twist. Instead of battling trolls and towers, players will have to deal with space pirates and warp gates. Tiles are now hexagons, which mean they can me swapped in six direction. Gravity also plays a factor in the game. When you move a tile, the new tiles will fall in the same direction. This adds a new level of strategy to the franchise.
I have Puzzle Quest: Galactrix on the PC and must say it’s pretty fun. The hexagon tile and gravity change the gameplay up quite a bit. It is an absolute lie to say that Galactrix is just Puzzle Quest in space.

There is no doubt about it, DLC is big money. Don’t believe me? Well, according to Michael Patcher, analyst for Wedbush Morgan, GTAIV’s The Lost and Damned will be downloaded over two million times this year. At $20 a pop, that’s some pretty good money.
Patcher stated: “Take-Two released the first installment of DLC for GTA in mid-February, and we estimate that the game has been downloaded over 1 million times to date. By year-end, we think that this figure will likely double, giving us greater confidence that Take-Two can achieve its full-year earnings guidance.”
Although this news is interesting, I don’t find it surprising. I know that once I get a job, my first purchase is going to be The Lost and Damned, and I’m sure there are plenty of jobless college students like me out there.

Today Bethesda sent word that Fallout 3’s next DLC pack, “The Pitt” will hit Xbox Live Marketplace and Games For Windows Live Marketplace on March 24.
For those of you who don’t know, “The Pitt” takes gamers out of the nation’s capital and puts them knee deep in raider controlled Pittsburgh. While exploring Pittsburgh gamers will face a decision, do some good by helping the slaves break free or be a bad guy and help out the raiders. Although there has been no announcements regarding new weapons or abilities, I can tell you from the screen shot above that there will be a ridiculously cool looking rotary saw.
In order to get access to all this content, you are going to have to cough up 800 Microsoft Points ($10). If I can get my character that rotary saw, this DLC is totally worth the price.

Yesterday Bethesda revealed three screenshots and some details about Fallout 3’s upcoming downloadable expansion titled ‘The Pitt’.
‘The Pitt’ will take post-apocalyptic adventurers out of the DC area and put them in ruined Pittsburgh, which is now run by raiders. According to Bethesda, “The Pitt opens with a desperate radio message, and a meeting with its sender, an escaped slave named Wernher. Wernher claims that the leader of “The Pitt” has created a cure for mutations… and he needs you to go in and retrieve it. From there, the player can proceed in a number of ways, in true Fallout 3 style. Do you fight your way in, or disguise yourself as a slave? Ally with the slaves, or join their Raider overlords? The Pitt is very morally ambiguous - there’s no real right or wrong, just choices to be made, sides to be chosen, and a mystery that could send shockwaves throughout the entire Wasteland.”

The Pitt will hit Xbox Live Marketplace and Games for Windows Marketplace this March. Although no official price has been announced, I feel safe in assuming that it will cost as much as the previous DLC, ‘Operation Anchorage’, which was $10. It is also important to note that ‘The Pitt’ will also raise the level cap past 20.
Personally I love the idea behind this DLC. Actually I just like the idea that I can go to Pittsburgh and kill Steelers fans (Go Browns!). As soon as more details surface, I’ll post them here on the Wire.
Today Capcom decided to get coy with gamers. It announced that it will unveil its next Xbox 360 title on Monday, Feb. 23.
On Monday, Capcom will release a trailer for the unnamed game on Xbox Live Marketplace.
As of right now there are no clues as to what the game might be. Capcom has not specified if the unknown game will be an Xbox 360 exclusive release or not. Personally I’m hoping for a new Powerstone. I guess I’ll have to wait until Monday to see. Once it is unveiled, you can be sure there will be a post here on the Wire.
