Remember when I posted a news item about the Premium Edition of Soul Calibur IV? I promised to revisit it if any new information came out, and today Namco explained in further detail the Premium Edition’s contents.

The Premium Edition comes with a XL T-shirt. The Xbox 360 version’s shirt is white and has Yoda on it. The PS3 version’s is black and has Darth Vader on it. There is also the mysterious “Tournament Kit”, which in all reality is just a card with a tournament tree on it. Also included, is a comic/art book which will explain the events that happened before Soul Calibur IV.

I’ll leave it up to you guys to decide if its worth the $80 price tag. Personally, I think I’ll pass.

Namco Bandi have announced that Soul Calibur IV will be hitting North American stores on July 29. There will be the standard $60 game, as well as an $80 premium edition. What does the premium get you? Not only will you get a metal box, a comic book and a “tournament kit”, but also access to “extra customization content.”

“Tournament kit” and “extra customization content?” That is so vague that I can’t help but be intrigued. You can be sure I’ll post the details on these two elusive selling points one they are released.
